The rain calendar and the festival calendar are two different maps — lay one over the other before you fix the date.
The first map is the weather. Danang's rainy season runs from September to December with the rainfall concentrated in September, October and November; October is the peak at around 266 mm on average, while February is the driest at only about 7 mm, out of an annual total of roughly 1,355 mm. The central Vietnamese storm season runs from August to November and is densest in October and November. If the main ceremony is outdoors, that window needs very careful thought — or an indoor alternative a few steps from the aisle.
The second map is the city's events calendar, which few couples check in advance. The Danang International Fireworks Festival (DIFF) fills the start of summer: the 2026 season runs from 30 May to 11 July with six Saturday-night performances on the Han River, bringing together ten teams from nine countries and territories, with grandstand tickets from VND 1 to 4 million. On those nights hotel rooms are scarce and dearer, traffic along the river is heavy, and your distant guests will struggle to find well-priced flights. New Year is similar — Danang airport once handled almost 3,600 flights over that holiday alone.
Lay the two maps over each other and the good windows are clear: March to mid-May — calm sea, steady sun, the city not yet at peak; and late July into August — after the fireworks close and before the rains begin. If the auspicious date in your family's lunar calendar falls squarely in the rainy season, change direction rather than the date: move the main ceremony into the hall and keep the beach for photographs or a short drinks reception. Central Vietnam's weather usually gives you a few dry hours each day — it just will not tell you which ones in advance.
