A Danang Beach Wedding: Choosing the Month, Choosing the Hour

Dry season, rainy season and the golden hour — for a ceremony on sand, these weather decisions matter more than the decor concept.

Danang has two distinct seasons: a dry season running roughly from March to August, with steady sun and calm seas, and a rainy season from September to December — with October and November the peak of rain and storms. If you dream of a ceremony on the sand, favour the first half of the year; if you must marry in the rainy season, choose a venue whose indoor alternative is a few steps from the aisle.

As for timing, an outdoor ceremony is at its best between 15:30 and 18:00: the light is already raking, soft and warm, and guests are not squinting when they face the sea. Avoid the middle of the day — white sand reflects fiercely, and the photographs come out with harsh shadows.

Finally, ask the venue three questions: at what hour is the aisle built and the backdrop raised, how strong is the afternoon sea breeze in the month you are marrying, and how long does the move indoors take. Places that host regularly — such as the Bac My An beach in front of Furama — will answer to the minute.
